And WhoSampled probably has the J Cole sample.Last update: October He's making a joke about how in concert jcole asked the audience who had Forrest hills drive and then he said something like "arrest every motherfucker that just yelled that shit ain't even out yet" in regards to the leak. Cole goes hard as hell in this like always. He is the artist that inspires me the most, not even just about life, but also life in general.
This is honestly one of the only songs I've heard by J Cole that interested me. Guess I'll finally quit sleeping on Cole. I understand why some people said his beats and tracks were boring and uninteresting before, but this project is full of fresh ass songs.
Seriously give it a listen. Not really. I listened to a few tracks from Sinner but didn't really like it so I didn't bother checking out the rest. Yup I just think it's stupid when people post like that, citing their own opinion as a legit source Damn I've downloaded his album already but kinda slept on this song.
Really good, i still think tale of 2 cities is my favorite right now. That beat bumps. Why not, support music you enjoy. Calling Cole real music means you think there is some hiphop that doesn't deserve support because it's not "real". This is my favorite song on the album but once it gets officially released its gonna be all over the radio, damn shame. It's just so damn catchy.
It's got the same feel as land of the snakes, and to me, is the only song up beat enough to be a radio hit. Very true, I would never have guessed crooked smile would have been the most mainstream song on the album. Ok, and I would. Gotta love the downvotes for expressing my own opinion though, this sub never ceases to amaze me.
I mean you didn't elaborate at all. I don't think your comment really contributes to any worthwhile discussion so I downvoted man. What's more annoying than misuse of the downvote, probably caring about being downvoted. I wasn't asked to elaborate so I didn't, but at least I posted a coherent, complete thought.
Wait, and your original response was "contributing to the conversation"? Get real dude, it clearly has contributed or we wouldn't be having this conversation right now.
And how exactly did you get the impression that I cared about being downvoted? This is reddit dude, you're taking a huge leap of faith if you think I give a fuck about a bunch of stranger's opinions over the internet.
I'm not dissing Cole at all, I actually enjoyed the song. But hey, lames will catch feelings if you make even the slightest criticism Judging by your response I'd say I'm not the one that caught feelings. I feel like sorta like what Cole said in his tape album- people wanna see beef between the big rappers.
I stand by every statement I made.Deezer music visualizer
I feel like sorta like what Cole said in his tape - people wanna see beef between the big rappers. My original statement was essentially that Cole's flow is very similar to the one Drake uses in many of his songs - that's really it. Quit pulling shit out of your ass dude, as I said, I like the song - I like both artists, drop the speculation.

The song illustrates the struggles of slaves in the south, which would seem like a somewhat odd choice for a J.
Cole song that prides itself on such livelihood and energy, that is until you really begin to look at the message presented. The video personifies the comparison, as the North Carolina rapper connects both worlds in a clever visual, check it out below. The comical sample is used by Cole expertly, however, as he relays a message with a similar sentiment, but unlike Pat, combines stories of angst and aspiration, while at the same time reminding listeners that, without anyone to look up to, he was able to get to where he is now.
Your new home for music
One of the more personal songs on the whole project, J. Cole has done on this album. Arguably his best project to date, Cole hand-plucked each sample with the intention to connect it to his own story or expand on a story already written by the other artist. You are commenting using your WordPress.

While it may not be his Late Registrationhe has definitely graduated into a class of his own. Its narrative, the tropes, and the strategies are completely overcome by the album's terrifying integrity. It wraps itself in the garments of a classic, but you can see that the tailoring is off. But whilst this definitely misses out on classic territory, that doesn't mean it isn't a bloody good album for the most part. Our editorial content is not influenced by any commissions we receive. In the uncertain world of the music business, there seems to be one surefire way to make a hit song: sample or interpolate something from the Three 6 Mafia family.
The conversations, which happened separately, have been combined here. When did Three 6 really get started?
What Is This Place For?
That was in The group was [initially] called the Serial Killaz, and the name of the tape was Portrait of a Serial Killa. After that, I went to the regular mixtapes on TDK tapes. Where did your sound come from?
Between me being in love with horror movies and having an organ, which is a creepy instrument anyway, that all just went hand-in-hand and made it happen. I got that idea and vibe from Scarface, and when I talk about women, I got those ideas from Too Short. Three 6 was doing that turn-up, hype music. How did Pat come up with his distinctive rapping style? DJP: We actually trained Pat to be how he is.
Pat was like a dude who was in Three 6 Mafia, but he wasn't. He was affiliated, but was on his own. I told him, it's going to be harder for you because what makes Three 6 Mafia so unique is like the title of our first album, Mystic Stylez : we have different people who sound different. Juicy don't sound like me, and I don't sound like Juicy, Crunchy [Black] don't sound like none of us, and Koopsta Knicca don't sound like nobody else in the world.
It kept the songs interesting because of all the different people. You want to see what the next person is going to do.
It's gotta sound almost like a new person just stepped up to the mic.

I can take the style of one line and make a whole song out of it. Right when Pac had passed, they were [bootlegging] a whole bunch of his old music out in L. So I used to be out in L.
